We haven`t been able to get back to redoing the TV room as our schedule has been so busy however after the weekend was over, I was hoping we could get back to it. However I got sick and spent all of yesterday lying on the couch, blowing my nose, watching televsion, napping and basically complaining to anyone willing to listen how crappy I felt. Oldest decidided to go ahead and do a little work as she was headed to Toronto today to see Cesar Millan live. She`s super excited by the way as he is her ultimate role model. Anyway, we decided to see what was behind the paneling on the bottom portion of the walls surrounding the rest of the room since we were pleasantly surprised to find drywall behind the wall unit and crossed our fingers for the same find. So this is where Oldest decided to tackle. It wasn`t as easy as she anticipated as instead of using nails, they glued the paneling to the wall. It was a pain in the butt and like so many other things the previous owners have done backwards with the property, we uncovered an outlet.
If you are wondering how it is possible that we just found it now, that`s because it was hidden behind the radiator (the radiator is the white thing lying down on the ground).
The outlet was dead (at least they did that right) but still had the wires attached so am thinking it's disconnected down in the basement somewhere. A bummer really because I could really use that outlet. Don't think I'm going to go to the trouble of rewiring, redrywalling, and in general an overall redo of this wall since it would obviously need to be moved out from behind the radiator. And since I've already lost a day to being bed-ridden and my boy has given me a deadline of December 1 to have the house decorated for Christmas, it's going to have to wait. But the good news is it was drywall behind the paneling!
