I'm a self-proclaimed scavanger hunter. I don't recall buying something brand new from a store in a long time. I'm on Kijiji hourly scowering for deals. Thanks to that site, my finances have improved dramatically. I can now have things without going into debt for them. Some deals are better than others. Some are downright steals. As in this purchase. An oversized dog run for $50.00! And if that deal wasn't sweet enough, I actually got TWO of these identical dog runs for that price! I had to drive an hour's away to the SPCA (the pound) who was selling them to pick them up, spent nearly two hours taking them apart, but for that price it was so worth it! And he took my telephone number because he may be selling more as they are renovating! Now that is one sweet deal!

Seriously, I need someone to stop me. If not, I fear I'll turn into the crazy chicken lady...and I don't even own a chicken---yet! Yesterday, while out, I bought more chickens. It can't be helped. I see a chicken and I squeak with excitement and snatch it up in my eager little hands. My daughters think I'm loony. I probably am. My newest additions. This isn't their permanent home, I will scatter them throughout my house, I'm not that fargone that I'll actually put all my crazy chicken collection in one spot on display....not that I haven't done that in the past. What is also so great about these chickens, is that I found each of them in a secondhand shop. I'm a huge thrifty shopper. Kijiji is my favourite website on the net. When the snow begins to melt, I begin scouring the newspapers for garage sales. Of course, one of my daughter's favourite purchases are books. They will exit a secondhand shop with an armful of books. Today, I found a great little find myself. Check it out. It's full of awesome photos such as this. And this. And this. The photos can either be wripped out and framed, or just left as they are...inspiring me and my little farm.
Well sort of. Since I'm planning on buying chickens farely soon, I thought it best to start filling my house with appropriate chicken decor. On to a different story, guess who we found in the pond today?
